Reasons my doctor might order this test.
What if it hurts to lie in certain positions?
If you have difficulty with certain positions (for example if you have a bad back or hip), please just ask the technologist if anything can be done to help you be more comfortable. Frequently simple changes in position or a well placed pillow is all it takes to help keep patients comfortable during their test.
When and how will I learn the results of my test?
Please check with your doctor's office to find out how the test results will be communicated to you. If your doctor is present when the exam is performed, you may receive some preliminary results shortly after the test is completed. Otherwise, it may take a few days for your doctor or another doctor to review the test results.
