What do I do to prepare for my test?
There is no need to anything different from your normal routine to prepare for your Echo. You may eat a normal meal before your test and take all of your medications (if any) unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Difficult Imaging.
There are circumstances when obtaining the pictures your doctor needs are difficult. This can be due to lung interference, obesity, or other technical limitations. In these instances, the decision to use Echo Contrast may be made. Please follow this link for more information.
What if it hurts to lie in certain positions?
If you have difficulty with certain positions (for example if you have a bad back or hip), please just ask the technologist if anything can be done to help you be more comfortable. Frequently simple changes in position or a well placed pillow is all it takes to help keep patients comfortable during their test.
What will an Echo tell my doctor?
Some of the many things your doctor may have ordered your Echo to learn about include:
Bubble Studies.
Occasionally, a Bubble Study may be indicated as an addition to your Echo. Please follow this link for more information.
